Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized, evidence-based therapy recognized for its effectiveness in helping the brain process and heal from traumatic experiences, anxiety, and related mental health concerns.
How it Works
EMDR therapy uses a structured approach where the client focuses on a memory while simultaneously engaging in rhythmic, left-to-right eye movements (or other forms of bilateral stimulation). This process helps the brain reduce the distress associated with the traumatic memory, allowing the client to integrate the memory without the emotional charge it once carried.
