Nicole Kwan, Student Intern
Hey! I’m so glad you’re here. I am excited to support folks here at the Collective Healing Centre as an intern. I am currently completing my master’s in counselling psychology at City University. My background is in working with children on the Autism Disorder Spectrum and their families, both in a school and home setting.
I have a passion for working with folks from all walks of life, because life is not meant to be faced alone. I won’t have all the answers, but you don’t have to hold everything by yourself. I believe healing happens in relationships, to be seen and understood. I offer a collaborative approach, bringing curiosity, humour, and compassion to the shared space. Together, we can make sense of what’s happening, explore what matters to you, and create space for meaningful change. I believe therapy works best when it feels like two humans having a genuine conversation, rooted in care. As a BIPOC therapist. I am passionate about offering culturally sensitive therapy to those who have experienced discrimination and have a special interest in working with Asian populations. I like to imagine myself as the GPS in your car. You are in the driver’s seat but I will be beside you to support you as you get to your destination. I tend to draw from Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and some Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, but therapy will look different for every person that comes in. I can’t wait to see all the places you’ll go!
